From Everglades Golden Retriever Rescue
My first experience with Dr. Butzer and Clint Moore Animal Hospital occurred in 2002. I had moved to Florida 6 months earlier and after having a bad experience with another vet, I asked neighbors for vet referrals. Everyone I spoke to said to go to Dr. Butzer and they were right! This was the beginning of a wonderful relationship. Once I got to know Doc, and saw how he treated my own dog, and me, the overprotective “mom”. I asked him if he would consider working with Everglades Golden Retriever Rescue, the organization of which I am now President. Dr. Butzer agreed and we shook hands on an agreement.
Since that day, Clint Moore has cared for several hundred of our rescue Golden Retrievers, giving them the best medical care possible. From simple vaccines and spaying/neutering of healthy dogs through complicated hernia and cancer surgeries, we know our Goldens are in the best hands. The fact that this facility is open 7 days a week, and that there 5 vets, makes it easy for us the bring in dogs and have them see a vet before being placed in either a foster home or the kennel.
I don’t know what we would do without the kennel and the kennel manager, Ryan Laabs. There was a time when we had to ask owners to hold onto their dogs until we had an open foster home, but with the Clint Moore Pet Resort, we can now immediately take in all the dogs who need our rescue services. We know that they will receive loving care and appropriate exercise. All medical instructions, as well as any of our special requests are carried out exactly, and Ryan also serves as our vet liaison.
I could probably go on and on about the vet techs, the late night phone calls from Dr. Butzer, because blood work just came back, or the friendly, cheerful greeting I get whenever I walk in the door. Just like the people who referred me back in 2002, I am probably a walking advertisement, telling everyone who asks me to go to Clint Moore Animal Hospital.
